INTERSECTIONALITY

     Antiwar, civil rights, women's rights, and the environmental movements were all coming together in the 1960s.

     The Vietnam War ended, the Voting Rights Act passed, women got the pill in 1960 and the environmental protection agency was started in 1970.

     Although there have been some gains, war and gun violence has become never-ending, voter suppression is common, civil liberties continue to be threatened, and corporations have been allowed to dump toxins in our drinking water.

     Much still needs to be done on helping the poor, hungry, homeless, peace, equality, civil rights, and civil liberties.

     Intersectionality brings all these movements together to work for social justice.
